Composite and PVC are the two decking materials we build with. Both are low-maintenance: no staining or sealing every couple of years, just a rinse and a wash when the seasons change. Composite blends wood fiber and plastic; PVC is all plastic. We'll help you pick between them based on the look you want and how the deck will be used.
A new deck starts with the framing underneath, and we build the railing and stairs with it so the whole thing reads as one piece. Tell us how you plan to use the space, whether that's dinner for four or a crowd on game day, and the size and layout follow from there.
A covered deck puts a roof over part or all of the deck. Shade in the afternoon, cover when a shower rolls through, and more days in the year when the deck is the room you'd rather be in.
We build the roof structure as part of a new deck or add one to a deck you already have. Call or text (865) 333-0361 with what you have in mind and a photo of the back of the house, and we'll talk through what fits the roofline and the yard.
A screened porch keeps the bugs out and lets the evening in. Dinner outside in July, a nap on a rainy afternoon, a spot for the dog to watch the yard without the mosquitoes joining in.
We build screened porches on the house and off a deck. The framing, the roof and the screen panels are built together so the porch feels like part of the house rather than a box added onto it. Tell us where it goes and how you'll use it, and we'll plan the size and the door placement from there.
Railings and stairs are built with every new deck, and we also replace them on a deck that is otherwise sound. A railing that wobbles or stairs that feel off underfoot are the two things homeowners notice first, and the first thing a guest grabs.
Send a photo of what's there now and we'll talk through what a new railing or stair run would involve, from the posts to the treads, and how it ties into the existing deck.
A pergola or shade structure breaks up the sun over a deck, a patio or a spot in the yard without closing it in. Open rafters overhead give filtered shade and a place to hang lights or train a vine.
We build them as part of a new deck or as a standalone structure. Tell us where you want the shade and when the sun hits hardest, and we'll size and place it from there.
Deck lighting makes the deck usable after dark: lights on the stair risers so the steps are easy to see, lights on the post caps and under the rail for the deck itself.
We plan lighting with a new deck or add it to one you already have. Tell us what you want to light and how you use the deck in the evening, and we'll go from there.
An aging wood deck gives warning signs: boards that feel soft or spongy, a railing that moves when you lean on it, hardware that has rusted, stairs that have pulled away from the deck. None of that means the deck is done for, and none of it is something to guess at from the driveway.
Call or text (865) 333-0361 and we'll take a look at what's there. Sometimes a repair gets you more years out of the deck you have. Sometimes the frame has had its time and a new composite or PVC deck is the better use of the money. Either way, you'll hear it straight.
